Munich, February 2023. Smart Reporting is excited to announce that following a stellar business performance in what can be described as a challenging macroeconomic year 2022, it has expanded its management team. The Munich based healthtech named Peter Vanovertveld as co-Chief Executive Officer (CEO), to share CEO responsibilities with founder Prof. Dr. Wieland Sommer. Christian Odaker previously VP Engineering is new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Smart Reporting. The expansion of the management team took place on January 1, 2023.
Peter Vanovertveld (48) joined Smart Reporting in January 2022 as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) & Chief Operations Officer (COO). As the person in charge of the Operations and Commercial Departments, he made an immediate impact focusing the organization on top and bottom line. Smart Reporting increased revenue by 138% in 2022 and reduced the cost structure by 37%. Moreover, the committed revenue for 2023 was increased significantly therefore at beginning of 2023, Smart Reporting has already seen a 32% increase in revenue (YoY) compared to 2022.
With the roll out of its latest most evolved reporting solutions in 2022, Smart Reporting in 2023 focuses on growing sales partnerships and international expansion while continuing to drive innovations into the market. Against this background, the division of responsibilities between Wieland Sommer and Peter Vanovertveld is the basis for the further successful development of the company.

Prior to joining Smart Reporting, Peter Vanovertveld worked for 22 years across pharmaceutical and biotech industry leaders. At Baxter and its spin-off Baxalta he held country, regional, and global leadership roles working in Belgium, Switzerland, and the US. At Vifor Pharma, Peter led the Market Access, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Pricing, and Policy departments, where his responsibilities included introducing commercial agreements excellence.
With the appointment of Christian Odaker, Smart Reporting gains a CTO with deep knowledge and experience in the field of health technology. Prior to his new role, Christian built his expertise for ten years holding leadership roles as VP Engineering at Smart Reporting and before that was part of Heidelberg Engineering and ESI Group.
